Community Archives

Bringing an aging document-management experience into alignment with a stronger product ecosystem, within a one-month engagement.

Engagement Product alignment and UI modernization

Overview

Community Archives is a document platform used by HOA managers to create, store, and access important association records. After its parent company acquired TownSq, the goal was to bring Community Archives into closer visual and interaction alignment with the broader product ecosystem.

The engagement was intentionally focused and lasted about one month, so the challenge was to make meaningful improvements quickly without introducing an entirely new design language.

My Role

I was responsible for learning the existing TownSq design system and applying that language to Community Archives. I worked in Figma to redesign key administrative screens, using established components and patterns wherever possible so the experience would feel like part of the same product family.

I also worked with stakeholders and a nearshore delivery team to validate the designs and make sure the proposed experience could be implemented within the engagement timeline.

Approach

Rather than treating Community Archives as a standalone redesign, I used TownSq as the reference point for visual language, interaction patterns, and component behavior. The goal was consistency, not novelty.

I focused on the screens that would create the greatest sense of alignment across the product, including dashboards, document management, orders, and administrative workflows.

Outcome

The result was a more cohesive and contemporary experience that better matched the broader Asocia product ecosystem. The stakeholders were pleased with the direction, and the work established a stronger visual foundation for Community Archives within the limited one-month engagement.
